The Epson Perfection V500 photo scanner may not be connecting to your iMac 2021 (OS Monterey) for the following reasons: 1. Improper connection or incomplete software installation: Make sure the scanner is properly connected to your computer and that the software is fully installed. 2. Locked scanner or transparency unit transportation lock: Check if the scanner or the transparency unit transportation lock is locked. Slide the lock to the unlock position if it is locked. 3. Unconnected scanner cover cable or optional Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) cable: Ensure that the scanner cover cable or the optional ADF cable is connected to the scanner's OPTION port. Connect the cable to the port. After trying these solutions, turn off the scanner using its power switch and then turn it back on. If the status light is still flashing orange, it may indicate a malfunction in the scanner, a need to replace the scanner light source, or a malfunction in the connected optional equipment. In such cases, it is recommended to contact Epson for further assistance. To transport the scanner for a long distance or store it for an extended period of time, follow these steps: 1. Plug in the scanner, connect it to your computer, and turn on the scanner using its power switch. Wait until the carriage moves to the home position (near the cover hinge) while the status light is green. Then, turn off the scanner using its power switch. 2. Open the scanner cover and slide the transparency unit transportation lock to the locked position. Close the scanner cover. 3. If the cover cable is attached, disconnect it. 4. Disconnect the USB cable. When scanning without the scanner cover, gently press down on your document to flatten it. After finishing scanning, replace the scanner cover in the reverse order that you removed it. Before connecting or disconnecting the cover cable, turn off the scanner using its power switch. To scan film strips or slides, follow these steps: 1. Ensure that the cover cable is connected to the scanner's OPTION port. Before connecting or disconnecting the cover cable, turn off the scanner using its power switch. 2. Open the scanner cover and gently slide up the document mat to remove it. Also, make sure the transparency unit transportation lock is unlocked. 3. Use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe the transparency unit window and the document table before placing your film or slides. Please note that these steps are general guidelines and may vary slightly depending on the specific model of the Epson Perfection V500 scanner.

I have an EPSON PERFECTION V500 PHOTO Scanner. I know nothing about how to use it. I need step-by-step instructions how to connect it to Mac Book Pro, and how to actually operate the scanner. At 85 I'm quite uneducated as to do this without clear instructions. Thanks for any help you can give me. Kathleen

I haven't used this scanner in a few years. I remember being able to load multiple pictures on the scanning bed and having each scanned to it's own individual file. When I have tried this yesterday with only two pictures, they both went into a combined file. What am I doing wrong and how can I correct it?

When I click on the desktop icon to scan, it does not show any of the options (ie where to save or change document type), it goes directly to scanning. How can I get the original options window to open
